Top WWE Star Shoots Hard On Part-Time Stars

During an appearance of Busted Open Radio, Intercontinental Champion and current SmackDown star Big E took some shots at the manner in which WWE uses part-timers and returning legends.

Big E stated that he feels as if WWE goes through a list of part-timers when considering big WrestleMania matches, and will only use new stars for the role if the legends cannot make the show:

“You know how it is, they will go through a list of part-timers, of the big names and big money guys who work once a year. They will go through that list and if they can’t get all those guys booked for that spot at WrestleMania, then it’s like ‘okay, who actually works here on a weekly basis and has been grinding and now maybe we give him an opportunity.”

Just this month, Goldberg returned to WWE TV to challenge Drew McIntyre to a WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. The pair are set to have a face-to-face on next week’s show.

During the same interview, Big E also seemingly took some shots at how some people called up to either Raw or SmackDown from NXT are given too much in short space of time:

“A lot times what you’ll see – and I won’t name names – you’ll see talent who are called up or brought in and they’re almost given too much too soon. Not that they don’t have the ability, but as a babyface especially, I don’t feel like I’m with you if you’ve been on the main roster two weeks and you already got a World Title shot.”
