Top WWE Star Tells Vince McMahon He Doesn’t Want To Perform In Saudi Arabia

The last time WWE toured Saudi Arabia in November 2018, two of their top stars in John Cena and Daniel Bryan, who were previously announced for matches at the Crown Jewel event, told the company they did not want to wrestle there. Roman Reigns missed the event due to his Leukemia diagnosis, but it has been revealed recently that he actually informed Vince McMahon beforehand of his unwillingness to perform on the show.

WWE is set to return to Saudi Arabia on June 7 for the Super ShowDown event that will see Goldberg and The Undertaker clash for the very first time. However, it appears that one man who won’t be returning to Saudi Arabia is Kevin Owens.

Fightful is reporting that the Smackdown star told WWE officials that he didn’t want to work the show.  Sami Zayn has been left off the last two Saudi Arabia events because of his Syrian heritage, although no official reason for Owens’ refusal has been provided, it likely has to do with his friend Zayn.

Last night, Dolph Ziggler returned to WWE for the first time since the Royal Rumble match. He brutally attacked Kofi Kingston, and revealed that he will be challenging for the New Day star’s WWE Championship at Super ShowDown. It is unknown if this spot would have gone to Owens had he not refused to take part in the show.
