Daniel Bryan will admit he is not the most tech-savvy person in wrestling. He’s openly talked about not owning a television for much of his early life. However, now he has committed an unforgivable offense. He has confused Twitch with failed WWE social media service, Tout.
The exchange took place over Twitter last night with Bryan initially saying he was going to start his own Twitch channel. He would be doing so to start a gaming channel despite not playing video games in decades. Renee Young then challenged him for not supporting the defunct Tout. This prompted the unfortunate reply of Bryan thinking Tout had become Twitch.
I haven’t played video games since the original Nintendo, but I just watched my wife play #UFC4 on espn2 and was so inspired I’m starting my own twitch

Oh, I thought TOUT had morphed into Twitch and that’s why the kids love it so much. Is Twitch not TOUT?!!!

If it is not clear, no, Tout did not become Twitch. It is entirely possible and probably pretty likely that this is just a joke between Bryan and Young.
Tout was prominent on WWE programming in 2012. The video platform allowed people to post 15-second videos (or Touts) and be featured on WWE television. This was similar to an Instagram video in modern terms. The platform was not successful and went out of business just last year. WWE’s relationship with the company ended in 2014.
