A new report has revealed details on a top WWE star’s contract status.
Edge has been absent from WWE TV since his loss against Finn Balor in an I Quit Match back at Extreme Rules.
Ahead of that bout, the Rated R Superstar had not been featured on every week of television in the buildup to his matches with Balor and fellow Judgment Day member Damian Priest.
Fightful Select (subscription required) has provided an update on the details on Edge’s contract status, noting that the WWE Hall of Famer is on a deal with limited dates.
One WWE higher up said that the vignettes that aired building up to Edge’s SummerSlam 2022 return were a way to “buy some weeks” on television.
In 2020, it was reported that Edge was on a three-year agreement with WWE, for 25 appearances and 5 matches per year. However, it seems that may have been incorrect.
The former Judgment Day leader has competed in 10 matches in 2021 and in six matches so far in 2022.
If the contract reported is correct, it could be up soon, but the details on the length of the contract reported and how many appearances are left on his existing contract aren’t confirmed as of yet.
We will have further updates on Edge’s WWE contract status when they become available.
As previously reported, Edge and another top WWE star are reportedly expected to compete in a signature stipulation bout at Royal Rumble 2023.
