Toxic Attraction WWE Main Roster Call-Up Canceled? WWE

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament has been a bit cursed, especially with regards to NXT’s Toxic Attraction.

First, Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne) weren’t even in the tournament, but they were brought in as replacements for the team of Zoey Stark and Nikkita Lyons, who were out due to a Stark concussion and Lyons’ own undisclosed ‘medical issues’.

Toxic Attraction did win their match on SmackDown last week, but unfortunately, Gigi Dolin suffered a concussion during the match, and they’ve been taken back out of the tournament.

Their spot in the semi-final round will now filled by the winner of a four-way between the four teams who lost in the quarter-final round, which are Dana Brooke & Tamina, Doudrop & Nikki ASH, Shotzi & Xia Li, and Natalya & Sonya Deville – the four-way will take place on tonight’s SmackDown.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this was supposed to be a full main roster call-up for Dolin and Jayne, but it’s unclear now whether that’ll still happen.

It was noted that WWE had uploaded a video of Dolin and Jayne saying they’re going to ‘take over SmackDown from now on’, but the video was taken down which is what has led to the question marks about the call-up potentially being called off completely.

At the very least, plans have obviously been postponed due to Dolin’s injury.

It’s also worth noting that Mandy Rose, the leader of the Toxic Attraction trio in NXT with her being the main singles star and Dolin & Jayne being the tag team, was not accompanied by either Dolin or Jayne for her appearance on NXT this past Tuesday, but she did have the same Toxic Attraction entrance music and video wall.

Rose will be involved in a three-way match at Worlds Collide on September 4 to unify her NXT Women’s Championship and Meiko Satomura’s NXT UK Women’s Championship. Blair Davenport (Bea Priestley) is the third woman in the match.

We will of course keep you posted with any more updates on Toxic Attraction’s status as they emerge.
