Tragic Death Of Jay Briscoe Inspired This Pro Wrestler’s New Show ROH

A professional wrestling name has shared that he took inspiration from the recent tragic death of Jay Briscoe to encourage him to try something new.

ROH commentator Nigel McGuinness has opened up about his new magic show, running in London the day after AEW All In, citing a tragedy for encouraging and inspiring him to take a new chance.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Nigel McGuinness said:

“I was always open to the idea, but never really had the inspiration, the motivation. Unfortunately it took the passing of Jay Briscoe in January earlier this year to give me that final nudge to just say, ‘right now’s the time’.

“I’ve got a little bit of space, a little bit of leeway, mentally and logistically, to put this together. I used Jay as inspiration to the show, which I am extremely proud of and very excited about as well.”

McGuinness shared that his ninety minute magic show would be specifically aimed towards wrestling fans and occur at London’s Electric Ballroom on May 28.

McGuinness said:

“It’s a very exciting time to be around the magic industry and the wrestling industry as well… a golden era of professional wrestling, and perhaps magic too.”

Nigel McGuinness has recently made his return to Ring of Honor, serving on the commentary team alongside Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman.
