Trick Williams’ Opponents For WWE NXT Heatwave Confirmed WWE

NXT Champion Trick Williams’ opponents for the upcoming WWE NXT Heatwave premium live event have been confirmed.

In an in-ring segment during tonight’s NXT, Ethan Page called out General Manager Ava to note that he was never eliminated from last week’s Battle Royal and should be facing Trick Williams at Heatwave.

Page had been taken out by Oro Mensah right at the start of the Battle Royal but never actually went over the top rope. The match was eventually won by Je’Von Evans.

Back to tonight, Page and Ava were interrupted by Shawn Spears, who claimed it should be him getting a title shot because he beat Evans in a singles match a week prior.

Trick Williams himself then came out, and stated that he would be happy to face any or all of them at Heatwave. A singles match between Williams and Spears was then made for tonight’s main event.

During that main event, there was an appearance by Brooks Jensen, who ended up whacking Williams in the head with the announce table cover.

Jensen was then pulled away by security, but the damage was done and Spears took advantage to earn himself a pinfall win over Williams.

Earlier during the match, Oro Mensah had appeared and fought off Ethan Page who was sitting at ringside watching on.

Right after that at the very end of the show, Ava was confronted with making an official decision on Williams’ Heatwave opponent.

In her office with her ‘assistants’ Stevie Turner and Robert Stone, Ava noted that everyone had made compelling arguments for why they deserved to be included in the match, and she had made her decision.

The WWE NXT Championship match at Heatwave will be Trick Williams defending his title in a Fatal Four-Way featuring challengers Ethan Page, Shawn Spears and Je’Von Evans.

Elsewhere on the show, several other titles matches were also confirmed for Heatwave, which takes place on Sunday, July 7, the night after Money in the Bank.

Roxanne Perez will defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Lola Vice, and the NXT Tag Team Champions Axiom and Nathan Frazer will defend against Chase U’s Andre Chase & Duke Hudson.

Also, Kelani Jordan will put her NXT Women’s North American Championship on the line against Sol Ruca, and Wes Lee will challenge Oba Femi for the men’s North American Title.
