Trick Williams’ first defence of his newly won TNA World Championship will take place on next week’s episode of WWE NXT.
History was made on Sunday night’s WWE Battleground event, when NXT star Trick Williams defeated TNA star Joe Hendry to become the first ever active WWE star to become TNA World Champion.
Following his victory, WWE announced that Trick Williams would appear on tonight’s episode of NXT with his newly won championship.
Earlier in the night, TNA star Mike Santana competed in his first match in WWE, defeating No Quarter Catch Crew member Tavion Heights.
However, Santana’s night wasn’t over after the match, with him coming out the ring again later in the night to confront Williams during his celebration promo.
Santana vowed to be the man to wave the TNA flag with pride, and take the TNA World Championship from Trick.
TNA Wrestling Director of Authority Santino Marella then appeared on screen, when he announced that Trick would make the first defence of his title against Santana on next week’s June 3 NXT show.
