John Cena was on top of WWE for a rather long-time, winning 16 World titles and main eventing WrestleMania on numerous occasions. Since 2017, he has taken a more part-time schedule and began transitioning into Hollywood.
Despite Vince McMahon’s efforts with Roman Reigns, WWE has not really produced a top star since John Cena, and it appears as if even higher-ups within the company are aware of that fact.
During his latest podcast episode, former Intercontinental Champion Ryback opened up about a conversation he had with Triple H, where HHH said that WWE won’t have another marquee name after Cena:
“This goes back when I was there and Hunter told me…when I was in that top position, or working in that top position; and then the contract negotiations were coming up.
“[Triple H] goes, ‘Ryan,’ and he was just shooting me straight, he goes; ‘we’re never gonna have another marquee name after [John] Cena ever again. He’s the last one.”
Ryback also interestingly revealed that Triple H allegedly plans on leaving WWE before the age of 65. You can find out more about that potentially rather interesting by clicking here.
During another recent episode of his podcast, the former WWE star shot on Raw Underground and claimed that it is bad for wrestling. You can also read more about Ryback’s thoughts by clicking here.
