It has been reported over the last few weeks that CM Punk is set to star as the co-host on WWE Backstage, the company’s new FS1 studio show.
Punk even had a tryout in Los Angeles several weeks ago with Renee Young, the lead host for the show.
Should he be officially offered the role, CM Punk will be working for FOX rather than WWE. However, that does not mean thta a return to Vince McMahon’s company is off the table.
Recently, CM Punk revealed that he would return to WWE for a “very big bag”, while COO Triple H said “never say never” when asked if the former WWE Champion could come back.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani, Triple H stated that Vince McMahon would likely be “open” to the idea of CM Punk returning to his company.
“That’s a ‘could be’. Vince will say it all the time: ‘We’re open for business’. The past is passed, today is today and you never say never in WWE.”
