Triple H and CM Punk are among the names to pay tribute to long-time WWE employee Jim Shank, following his passing on Friday, February 6.
News broke yesterday that Shank – who was 60 years old – had passed away on Friday following a multi-year battle with colorectal cancer.
Shank had been with WWE since 1999 and most recently held the role of Technical Operations Manager.
After last night’s WWE Raw ended with a graphic paying tribute to Shank, several more WWE names have taken to social media to share some words for their colleague.
In a post on Twitter, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce shared a heartfelt tribute to his friend, referring to Shank as an “unsung hero” of WWE:
Godspeed, Jim Shank.
WWE has many unsung heroes: Incredible men and women that perhaps aren’t seen on screen, yet truly make everything we do shine. Jim is unquestionably one of those, and has been a respected member of our family for years.
I thank you, Jimmy… for your talents, your time, and most importantly, your friendship. Connections through Houston won’t ever be the same.
Rest well, my friend.
WWE star Rusev shared Jim Shank’s tribute graphic from last night’s Raw, along with the message:
RIP Jim Shank.
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk took to his Instagram Stories (see below) to pay tribute to Shank, writing:
Rest easy my friend.
On Twitter, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H described Shank as an “incredible teammate” and “beloved member” of WWE’s production crew:
On Friday, the WWE family lost a beloved member of its production crew.
Jim Shank was a fixture backstage and an incredible teammate, who helped create the magic of the live experience at WWE.
My thoughts and those of our entire crew and talent roster are with his family at this time.
It’s never goodbye…but see ya down the road.
Veteran WWE star Nattie (Natalya) responded to Adam Pearce’s tribute to Shank with one of her own, writing on Twitter:
My thoughts are with Jim Shank’s family during this time.
Jim was one of those rare people whose kindness spoke louder than words, an unsung hero backstage in WWE.
Jim was always thinking of others, always showing up for everyone else. His memory will stay in our hearts.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Jim Shank at this time.
Godspeed, Jim Shank.
