Pat McAfee is the latest football player to try his hand at pro wrestling. Hopefully, it goes better than it did with Rob Gronkowski earlier this year.
McAfee is set to face Adam Cole in his debut match this Saturday at NXT Takeover: XXX. While these are high stakes for someone making their debut, Triple H has commented on his potential and what he has seen so far.

“Triple H says Pat McAfee is a great athlete. He calls McAfee a natural based on the training that he’s seen.”
Training footage has been shown of McAfee in the ring at the Performance Center and it has been impressive. Athletes can be hit and miss when it comes to wrestling. Hopefully, McAfee will be able to match his success from the NFL in the squared circle.
McAfee’s storyline with Adam Cole began with Cole’s recent appearance on McAfee’s podcast. McAfee belittled Cole to his face and when Cole snapped it led to this feud. McAfee has since appeared on NXT, kicking Cole while producers held him back.
