WWE Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque has commented on the passing of WWE production veteran Davey Coates.
Earlier today, it was announced that long-time WWE production staff member Davey Coates had sadly passed away.
Coates was listed as an International Production Manager for the company, with him also spending a lot of time working on NXT UK and at the UK Performance Center during the show’s lifespan.
Coates has been credited for helping set up all WWE international shows, large and small, happen by Triple H.
Triple H Pays Tribute To Davey Coates
Taking to Twitter to comment on Coates’ passing, WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque paid his tributes to Coates, sharing a photo of the two of them together from an international tour 30 years ago.
He wrote:
Learned of the sad news of Davey Coates passing. Davey was @WWE’s international touring manager and was largely responsible for making all international shows, large and small happen. He ensured our wrestling rings got to the most remote corners of the world, our backstage ran smoothly and always took great care and personal pride in assisting our NXT UK talent at the “UK Performance Centre.”
Davey sent me this photo some years ago, another memory from an international tour 30 years ago… The thoughts of our crew, our talent and the entire WWE family are with his family today. See ya down the road, Davey. Catch you at the next gig.
WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce Comments On Coates’ Passing
Taking to his social media, WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce was the first name in the company to publicly comment on the passing of Davey Coates.
He wrote:
Godspeed, Davey Coates. Another absolute legend behind the scenes who tirelessly worked for decades to bring @wwe to the globe. I can’t say enough about his passion and dedication. I’m honored to have worked with him and shared countless laughs along the way. My heart goes out to his friends, family, and all touched by this loss. Rest well, sir.
Last month, another long-time WWE employee, Kerwin Silfies, also sadly passed away, with a tribute graphic to Silfies airing on the following episodes of Raw and SmackDown.
We send our condolences out to the friends, family and colleagues of Davey Coates following the news of his passing.
