WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque has commented on a WWE star capturing their first singles championship.
A new Luchadore burst onto the scene back in March, when El Grande Americano made his debut for WWE, picking up wins over Dragon Lee and Rey Fenix.
Following his victory at his first WrestleMania event last month, El Grande Americano was part of the latest WWE Speed Championship tournament, with him reaching the final last night against Dragon Lee.
El Grande Americano would end up beating Dragon Lee, capturing his first championship in WWE, in a match that aired on tonight’s episode of WWE Speed on X.
Taking to Twitter following the victory, Triple H commented on El Grande Americano’s first championship victory, noting that Chad Gable was ‘somewhere smiling’ following it.
He said:
A huge win for @Americano_WWE for his first singles championship.
I’m sure @WWEGable is smiling somewhere… #WWESpeed
The Speed Championship is the first championship of El Grande Americano’s career, with him now winning a singles championship before Chad Gable, who still waits for his opportunity.
