Triple H Is A Big Fan Of ‘Slam Dunk’ WWE Call-Up WWE

An update has emerged on how WWE views former NXT North American Champion Cameron Grimes, following his recent main roster call-up.

Grimes was officially moved from NXT to SmackDown during the 2023 WWE Draft. His first TV match for the brand saw him defeat Baron Corbin in a matter of seconds on the May 12 edition of SmackDown.

With such an emphatic victory, there has been a lot of speculation that Grimes will be pushed as a future top star.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), several WWE higher ups, including Triple H, were said to have been fans of Grimes’ work ahead of his call-up, and could see potential in him for the main roster.

The report also noted that several agents and producers also were high on Grimes following experiences working with him prior to his SmackDown debut.

One longtime WWE employee reportedly described Grimes as a ‘slam dunk’ as he could work numerous styles of matches.

Grimes was also in action at the taping for the May 26 edition of SmackDown, which you can read more about right here.
