According to a report from Fightful, Triple H could be bringing a new tag team to the division and the names of its members are bound to raise a few eyebrows.
It appears that Triple H is bringing together the perennial WWE babyface R-Truth and the underutilized but supremely talented heel Shelton Benjamin in a tag team that, as yet, doesn’t have a name, let alone a direction.
Fightful (subscription required) reported that, on internal documents at WWE Raw, Benjamin and R-Truth were listed as a pairing.
Benjamin has held the WWE Tag Team Championships three times (twice with Charlie Haas and once with Cedric Alexander), the Intercontinental Championship three times, the United States Championship once and the WWE 24/7 Championship a total of three times.
R-Truth, by contrast, has held the WWF Hardcore Championship and the WWE United States Championship twice, been a WWE Tag Team Champion with Kofi Kingston and held the WWE 24/7 championship a total of 54 times, (kind of) making him one of the most decorated wrestlers in WWE history and one of its most beloved.
How will these two WWE stars fare when they’re on the same page?
Only time and WWE creative will tell.
