Triple H Believes It Is ‘Irresponsible’ To Return To Blood In Wrestling WWE

Ever since WWE moved to a TV-PG rating back in 2008, sightings of blood in WWE have been few and far between, with intentional blading being all but completely removed from the show, and an action punishable with a fine, which famously happened to Batista when he bladed in a Steel Cage match with Chris Jericho.

With rumours of Raw potentially moving to TV-14, Vince McMahon retiring and Cody Rhodes returning to the company, there has been more speculation than before about blood potentially being brought back to WWE programming, as it is still seen basically weekly every Wednesday on TBS.

Triple H recently spoke to The Ringer, where he revealed that Survivor Series this year would host two WarGames matches, one for the men and one for the women. With the stipulation match typically being rather bloody (AEW’s version literally has blood in the name), he was asked about whether or not blood would return to WWE programming.

Triple H explained:

“The world has changed. The world has evolved. I don’t think it’s necessary. If we have talent that gets [cut open], usually you’ll see them roll out and they’ll get looked at to make sure that there’s nothing dangerous. I’m just of the opinion right now, given the state of the world and the pandemic, and at the end of the day, what we do is dangerous enough without intentionally making it more dangerous. Yes, we did [feature bleeding] for a long period of time, but we’ve changed that practice. And it’s irresponsible to go back.”

It was recently reported that Triple H has ‘more surprises’ in store for WWE, with some being things that ‘nobody is talking about’.
