Triple H Recalls His ‘Worst Moment Ever’

Triple H Recalls His ‘Worst Moment Ever’

Triple H was honoured to induct Ric Flair into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008, but he also recalls some not-so-fond memories of the induction.

As you would probably imagine, Flair had quite a lot to talk about during his speech given his incredibly storied career, but the only problem with that was he had limited TV time to do it.

And guess whose job it was to tell him to hurry up? That’s right, it was Triple H.

In a bonus scene from WWE 24 uploaded to WWE’s YouTube channel, here’s what ‘The Game’ had to say about the situation:

“At some point I see somebody wave from the curtain, wave me over, and I stick my head into Gorilla Position, and Vince is like ‘how much longer’s he got?’ He’s talking about the 70s, he’s not even in the 80s yet. Vince is like ‘well, we’re gonna get dropped dead off TV, you’ve gotta go out there and cut him off,’ and I’m like ‘you need me to walk out on stage and tell Ric Flair to wrap up his induction speech?’ And he’s like ‘yes, go right now.’ And I’m like ‘for the love of God,’ right? So then I have to walk out there, the crowd’s booing, and I’m like ‘erm, you’ve gotta wrap it up’ and he’s like ‘Okay!’ You know, he just keeps going. Now there’s a panic of people at Gorilla calling me over. ‘Why didn’t you tell him?’ ‘I did tell him.’ ‘Why isn’t he wrapping it up?’ ‘It’s his Hall of Fame speech.’ And they’re like ‘go tell him again,’ and I’m like ‘eugh.’ The worst possible feeling I could have is having to tell Ric ‘you’re a legend Ric you had a great career, get off the stage please.’ I don’t even know that was a big deal to him and that he remembered it like the whole thing’s this whirlwind to him, but oh my God, for me, it was the worst moment ever.”
