Triple H Sets Up Match With The Undertaker on WWE Raw!

Triple H vs The Undertaker is the biggest match announced to date for WWE‘s Super-Showdown PPV in Melbourne, Australia on October 6 – and the hype began on last night’s Raw.

HHH made his in-ring return to the Monday night show where he claimed that he originally turned down the chance to face The Dead Man in Oz, saying that it would be impossible to top the moment he shared with Taker and Shawn Michaels at the end of their WrestleMania XXVIII ‘End of an Era’ Hell in a Cell match.

But then The Cerebral Assassin did an about-turn and said he called Vince back, changing his mind because he wanted one last chance to re-live that special era.

His reasoning wasn’t explained as well as it might have been but it doesn’t really matter, because it’s HHH vs The Undertaker we’re talking about. And that’s a big match, however you dress it up.

If Super Show-Down is anything like The Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia in April, it will be little more than a glorified house show. On that night, HHH faced (and lost to) John Cena. But WWE did nothing whatsoever to build that match on its weekly TV. At least with this Game promo – and potentially a response from Undertaker in the coming weeks – they’re taking the promotion for the Melbourne Cricket Ground event seriously.

And while the two legends now have a combined age of 102, the star power involved in this ‘Last Ever’ showdown should ensure quite a spectacle for the Aussie audience.
