Triple H Suffers Serious Injury In Crown Jewel Main Event

The nostalgic battle of the icons in the Crown Jewel main event descended into carnage when Triple H was injured early on in the bout.

The injury appeared to occur when he took a bump out of the ring and landed badly.

Although we do not yet have official confirmation about the nature of the injury, from the way Hunter favoured his right arm for the rest of the match it appeared to be a muscle tear in his arm or pec.

Following the injury to Hunter the match fell apart somewhat as the three men left standing scrambled to re-assemble a new bout on the fly, an especially difficult proposition when Michaels had not wrestled for over eight years. He probably did not expect to be carrying his end of the match quite as much as he had to.

Triple H tried to stay active in a spot outside of the ring with Kane where they both ended up crashing unconvincingly into the barricades. It was clear at this point that Hunter had limited movement in his right arm and was barely able to move it. A spot was improvised to put him through the announce table so Dr. Amman could check him out.

Michaels also suffered an injury, busting his face on a risky moonsault from the top to the outside, which left him bloody and temporarily dazed.

Hunter returned to the ring to close out the match – because with DX winning the bout there was no way Michaels could realistically beat both of them on his own – and bravely struggled through a few spots with Kane.

Eventually a Michaels superkick to Kane was followed with a gentle Pedigree and Triple H covered for the three.

WWE may think twice about putting these four in the ring together again, because the result was carnage.
