WWE Hall Of Famer Reveals Whether Triple H Takes After Vince McMahon By Screaming At Talent WWE

Former WWE (then WWF) champion “Big Daddy Cool” Diesel, Kevin Nash, has offered some insight into the changes that have occurred backstage since the Triple H regime change, including in the way talent is spoken to.

Following Vince McMahon’s retirement on July 22, 2022, Triple H’s takeover has seen the return of many stars, both backstage and in-ring, as well as allowing for more creative freedom from the wrestlers.

McMahon built himself a formidable reputation in the company as a manager who shouted orders both backstage and live on air.

His strange tendencies were frequently reported, including his apparent dislike of people sneezing or nodding when in his company, according to his own daughter Stephanie McMahon.

According to Nash, Triple H’s managerial style is unlike his predecessor’s. As a long-time friend of Triple H, Nash reported that The Game prefers to have a conversation with talent rather than subject them to a verbal dressing down.

Speaking on an episode of his Kliq This podcast, Nash was asked if Triple H (Paul Levesque) was like McMahon. Nash said:

“No, he’s not. It’s just so not Paul. I mean, if you f***ed up to the degree where he was going to yell at you, I’m quite sure he’ll make a mental note or actually make a note to himself and then bring it up after the show is over to that person one-on-one, to not browbeat them in front of his cohorts because that’s just, I mean.”

According to Nash, Triple H’s managerial style is popular behind the scenes.

He continued:

“One of the things that I’ve talked to several people, I talk to a lot of people, you know, on the telephone, and I always ask them how are things different? And they just, they can’t wait like, ‘Oh my god!’ (They are excited) Yeah, I mean, things are so different. There is more of a, not even more of; there is an actual team kind of feel to it.”

Kevin Nash was previously a member of The Kliq, a backstage group that included Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall and X-Pac (Sean Waltman) among its members.

He has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice, once in 2015 as an individual, and again in 2020 as a member of the New World Order with Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Sean Waltman.

WWE Raw recently closed out its season premiere on October 10 with a celebration of the 25th anniversary of DX that included appearances from Shawn Michaels, ‘Road Dogg’ Brian James and X-Pac.

Road Dogg was recently rehired and appointed to the role of Senior Vice President of Live Events. Shawn Michaels meanwhile oversees talent development as the  Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative.
