WWE Chief Content Officer has addressed the Women’s Championship changing hands, noting that this title change hits differently for him.
After winning the Queen of the Ring tournament in May, Nia Jax challenged for Bayley’s WWE Women’s Title at the August 3 SummerSlam event.
Jax was ultimately victorious, pinning Bayley following a distraction from Ms Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton.
Triple H has now shared a photo of himself and Nia Jax backstage, with Jax holding her new title.
Congratulating Nia Jax, Triple H wrote:
There are a lot of reasons why this one hits differently.
It’s been incredible to witness Nia Jax’s ascent into Queen of the Ring and now, at her first #SummerSlam ever, your NEW @WWE Women’s Champion. Congratulations, Nia.
Jax was just one of several new champions crowned at SummerSlam.
The Intercontinental Championship was the first title to change hands, with Bron Breakker pinning Sami Zayn to win his first championship on the WWE main roster.
LA Knight later defeated Logan Paul to become the new US Champion. Finally, GUNTHER won the World Heavyweight Championship from Damian Priest.
