Despite what the man himself has said in the past, it appears there is very little chance of seeing former NXT star the Velveteen Dream back in WWE any time soon.
Even prior to his two recent arrests, Fightful Select has reported WWE was not interested on bringing Dream, real name Patrick Clark, back into the company.
Clark was arrested twice in August. While Clark was in jail after the second arrest, EC3, real name Michael Hutter, had gone public with allegations that, several years ago, during a house party at Hutter’s home, Clark had set up his phone in the bathroom to video fellow NXT talents at the time using said bathroom without their consent.
After being released from jail on September 13, Clark issued a response to Hutter’s allegation. During the response, Clark insinuated that cocaine usage had occured during the party in Hutter’s home.
Hutter has since responded to that accusation, which you can find here.
Fightful notes there was significant heat on Clark throughout his time in WWE, with one coach describing him as a “headache” due to his unusual behaviour.
He was released in December 2020, but Fightful notes discussions about releasing him were being held as early at June 2020.
One Fightful source noted it would be a “miracle” if he was re-signed by the current WWE regime, and reiterated we should not expect to see him back in the company, no matter how many teases he makes on social media.
