Two AEW stars are seemingly poised to join WWE after a new report reveals that departments within WWE have begun work related to them.
Some time ago, talk emerged regarding the Lucha Brothers – Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix – appearing to be on the way out of AEW.
Now, according to WrestleVotes Radio, a deal between WWE and the Lucha Brothers has likely been reached or is at least very close.
The report noted that the marketing and merchandise departments within WWE have been “given the greenlight” to produce “masks, t-shirts and promotional material” for the duo.
Those departments have begun creating concept designs for Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo in WWE according to the report, leading to a conclusion that a deal is close if not completed.
Per another report from Cory Hays of PW Nexus, the pair are said to be signing a multi-year deal and going “straight to the main roster” in lieu of a stint in NXT.
While Cody Rhodes, Andrade El Idolo, CM Punk and Jade Cargill went directly from AEW to the WWE main roster, others have made the switch to still find success in NXT.
The current WWE NXT Champion is ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page who was able to capture the title just over a month after his in-ring debut for the company following his AEW exit.
