Two Cinematic Matches To Be Shown At WWE Extreme Rules

We have known for a number of weeks now that the Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt clash taking place at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules would be a cinematic match.

However, it has emerged that another pre-taped match will be broadcast at the upcoming pay-per-view, with this match also set to feature some special effects.

It was announced on Monday’s Raw that Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio are going to have an Eye for an Eye match at the show, where you actually have to rip out your opponent’s eye out to win the match.

In case it wasn’t clear, WWE isn’t actually going to have one of the former WWE Champions have their eye ripped out at the show, so the company is reportedly planning to tape the match ahead of time and include some special effects.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer had the following to say about what WWE has planned for the match:

There will be at least two taped cinematic matches at the newly named “The Horror Show at Extreme Rules” PPV produced by WWE on 7/19 from the Performance Center.

Besides the Bray Wyatt vs. Braun Strowman non-title match billed as a fight at the swamp, the plan right now is also to tape the Eye For An Eye match with Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins.

The match has gotten a lot of attention in recent days, largely because the stipulation is stupid. They are billing the match as one that can only end when one person pulls the others’ eye out.

The idea is to do a taped match and use some form of CGI effects to simulate an eye being pulled out as the finish.

Speaking of Extreme Rules, Dolph Ziggler recently revealed that the stipulation he chooses for his WWE Championship match with Drew McIntyre at the PPV is something that fans won’t have ever seen before.
