Two Evolution matches cancelled, replaced by tag bout

The previously advertised Lita vs. Mickie James and Trish Stratus vs. Alexa Bliss matches at Evolution will no longer be taking place.

Instead, the two matches will be combined into one, with Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita teaming up against Bliss and James.

The change came via an angle on Raw in which Bliss and James confronted Trish and told her they wanted to team up against her. Trish accepted, bringing out best friend and great rival of the past Lita as her tag partner.

The two teams had a brief brawl, won by the veterans.

Mickie and Trish have met on pay-per-view several times before, most notably at WrestleMania 22 where James defeated Stratus to win the WWE Women’s title in a famous match, which was referenced by James during the promo.

The change likely comes about due to worries over whether Bliss will be capable of working a singles match due to the injury that has kept her out of the ring since Hell In A Cell.
