Two huge title changes at NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed

Fighting Spirit Unleashed, the latest New Japan Pro Wrestling show in the United States, featured two big title changes. Both the IWGP Tag Team Championships and the IWGP United States Championship changed hands at the show.

The Guerrillas of Destiny defeated The Young Bucks to win the IWGP Tag Team Championships for the fourth time. This was the culmination of the storyline that began at G1 Special in San Francisco where the Tongans turned on the rest of the Bullet Club.

Since then the Tongans managed to take the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Championships away from the Bullet Club and now they have taken the IWGP Tag Team Championships as well.

Fighting Spirit Unleashed also featured the defeat of IWGP United States Champion Juice Robinson at the hands of Cody.

Juice Robinson won the championship at the G1 Special in San Francisco by defeating Jay White in a memorable match but now finds himself in the history books as the first United States Champion with zero successful title defences.

Cody emerged at the end of the G1 Climax and challenged Robinson for the title, leading to this match. Cody now holds the IWGP United States Championship and the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.

No challengers have been named as of yet for the new champions but there are many tag teams lined up for shots at the IWGP Tag Team Championships and Cody currently has his hands full with Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi.
