When I saw these two new matches announced for Elimination Chamber, my first thought was “erm… oh.”
So first off, we’ve got Finn Bálor challenging Bobby Lashley AND Lio Rush in a handicap match for Lashley’s Intercontinental Championship.
See what I mean?
BREAKING: Two HUGE matches have just been made for #WWEChamber this Sunday!

Finn was set to take on Lashley for the title on last week’s Raw, but instead the ‘All Mighty’ just decided he didn’t fancy it so left Rush to take on the Irishman instead.
Of course, Bálor was victorious, but it is certainly an intriguing move to have Rush in the match with Lashley rather than just a one-on-one. We did see something similar a few weeks back when Drake Maverick joined Akam and Rezar in losing the Raw Tag Titles against Roode and Gable.
Drake took the fall, and we could potentially see the same here, leading to Lashley and Rush splitting, which in my opinion, is a dreadful idea.
Speaking of dreadful ideas, the second match is Baron Corbin vs. Braun Strowman. Oh dear.
This stems all the way back to Crown Jewel, when Corbin assaulted Braun before his Universal Title match with Brock Lesnar.
The two were set to go one-on-one at TLC, but because Strowman hadn’t been cleared after elbow surgery, he couldn’t actually do any wrestling, so a bunch of jobbers and Kurt Angle just beat up Corbin and Braun pinned him.
Last week on Raw, Corbin teamed up with Drew McIntyre to take on Strowman and Angle in the main event. The match was thrown out due to a DQ, but Strowman and Angle were left standing after battering their adversaries with some stairs.
If Corbin wins, I will throw a party and every single one of you is invited. That’s how confident I am that Braun’s just going to annihilate him. (Party may actually not exist, but you get my point).
