The relentless movement of talent between promotions continues apace and New Japan Pro Wrestling are once again the victim.
Following the raft of departures since Wrestle Kingdom – which has seen NJPW lose top stars Kenny Omega, KUSHIDA, Cody, The Young Bucks and Hangman Page – comes the news that Beretta and Chuckie T, known as Best Friends, are leaving the group.
Beretta had previously verbally given New Japan his word that he intended to stay with the promotion and thus had been factored into long-term booking for the next several months.

However, he and Chuckie have both since handed in their notice and will be finishing up with the promotion at the upcoming New Beginning shows in the US.
Their destination is unconfirmed but we can rule out Ring Of Honor as they would not have needed to leave New Japan to work there due to the talent sharing arrangement the two promotions have. WWE also seems unlikely, as Beretta had a very poor spell with the promotion previously and he does not have the name value that gives assurances things would be different this time.
More likely the pair are headed to AEW, which while unconfirmed by anyone in the promotion or the talent themselves, is the widely accepted belief within the industry. It is entirely possible that they, alongside Kenny Omega and several new members of the women’s roster (such as Bea Priestley), will be unveiled at the upcoming Double Or Nothing rally on February 7.
