
WWE Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque has unveiled two new WWE Championship titles to debut soon.
WWE announced it’s new Independent Development program last year, with a number of independent wrestlers now signing ID contracts with the company.
While the wrestlers currently still work independent appearances, they now have the chance to compete for a specific WWE branded championship belt.
Taking to Twitter, Triple H officially unveiled both the Men’s and Women’s ID Championships.
He wrote:
The top independent wrestling prospects have been ID’d… and now, we’re ready to spotlight the best of the best.
Here’s your first look at the Men’s and Women’s @WWEID Championships.
Various WWE ID talent are set to appear on the upcoming NXT Evolve tapings, which will begin airing on the Tubi streaming service next month.
In terms of how the first champions will be crowned, the following was announced:
The 1st WWE ID Champions will be determined in a tournament across the top independent wrestling promotions.
The WWE ID Championships will then be defended on the indies.
We will provide more information on the ID Championships as they become available.
