Despite it being Christmas Day, WWE decided to put out an episode of NXT on the USA Network last night. However, the matches that took place on the show had all been taped on different dates over the last month.

Roderick Strong’s opponent was Austin Theory. The former EVOLVE star signed for NXT several months ago, and this was his televised in-ring debut for the black and gold brand.
I am a huge fan of Theory and I think he will be a great fit for NXT in the coming months as he starts appearing on TV more consistently.
However, Austin Theory was not the only NXT in-ring debut that took place on the show. Fellow NXT-newcomer Shotzi Blackheart also competed for the black and gold brand for the first time.
Shotzi Blackheart, like Austin Theory, was unsuccessful in her in-ring debut for NXT. She was defeated by Bianca Belair
