Also, BUSHI and Shingo Takagi will defend their IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships against SHO & YOH. Ishimori won the junior title from KUSHIDA at Wrestle Kingdom 13. The win marked the first reign for Ishimori who returned to New Japan prior to the 2018 Best of the Super Junior tournament. Ishimori most recently defended his championship against Ryusuke Taguchi at The New Beginning in Osaka on February 11th. This match at the 47th Anniversary Show will be the next test in Taiji Ishimori’s reign.
BUSHI and Shingo Takagi will also be defending their titles at the event. After successfully defending the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships against former champs El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru at The New Beginning in Sapporo, BUSHI and Shingo Takagi must now turn their attention to SHO & YOH. SHO & YOH won the Super Junior Tag League but never received a two-on-two shot at the tag titles. Now they will get their chance to win the gold back from Los Ingobernables de Japon.
The New Japan Pro Wrestling 47th Anniversary Show is scheduled to take place on March 6th.
