There will be a pair of championship matches on next week’s episode of NXT.
It was announced on tonight’s (August 10) episode that MSK will defend their Tag Team Titles against Imperium next week. The two teams have been cutting off each other’s promos in recent weeks.
The other match announced was for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship. After Malcolm Bivens talked to William Regal and Kushida made it clear he wanted the challenge, Regal announced Kushida would defend the title against Roderick Strong next week.
Strong and Kushida have been feuding since the Diamond Mine debuted. There had been reports of NXT looking to put increased focus on the cruiserweight division this Summer. However, that was before much of the 205 Live roster was axed and changes were made to the show.
