Two WWE SmackDown Stars Confirmed For Raw Move

Two WWE SmackDown Stars Confirmed For Raw Move

We reported earlier that Andrade, Zelina Vega and Aleister Black will all be heading over to SmackDown from Raw, a concession from WWE to keep real-life couples on the same brand, and now it has been confirmed that two men will make the switch the other way to take their place.

The first – Samoa Joe – we already knew about. As soon as Finn Balor went to SmackDown Live with the Intercontinental Championship it was inevitable that the United States Title would move to Raw.

Samoa Joe was actually scheduled to appear on the show last week but was unable to do so due to illness, so WWE pushed his debut/return on Raw back to tonight’s show. It has since been confirmed that Joe is in the building at Raw and is expected to continue his feud with Braun Strowman which began two nights after WrestleMania.

The other move being reported by WrestleZone is former multiple-time Raw Tag Team Champion Cesaro, who is also backstage at the show tonight. Cesaro was last one Raw one year ago as part of The Bar tag team with Sheamus and both men were switched in 2018’s Superstar Shakeup.

Cesaro is moving to Raw solo, it seems, leaving SmackDown’s tag division looking very thin on the ground. Quite what that will mean for Sheamus – who is currently out with a suspected concussion – is anyone’s guess.

Join us tonight for live coverage of Raw to see how WWE handles the introduction of both men to the brand and how it handles the departures of Black, Andrade and Vega.
