Former NXT superstar Tye Dillinger (real name Ron Arniell) announced on Twitter back in late February that he had asked for his release from WWE. A few days later he was granted his wish.
Whilst Dillinger spoke very highly of the promotion, it appears that he is now ready to accept bookings for independent shows. He will be doing so under a new ring name, as Dillinger recently changed his name on Twitter to Shawn Spears, the name he used before his latest stint with WWE that he will seemingly be using on the indies.
Dillinger states in his tweet that he is now accepting books for after May 31st. Whilst some might be disappointed as this seemingly rules out Dillinger for All Elite Wrestling’s Double or Nothing show on May 25th, some of the more eagle-eyed fans noticed a note at the end of Dillinger’s tweet that might give them some hope.
Ok, under 2 weeks out and my excitement is already building. So, Let’s get to work.
NOW accepting bookings for shows after May. 31st, 2019 and available now for select signings and appearances.

Thank you all and I look forward to this.

Dillinger notes that he is ”available now for select signings and appearances”. This could be a case of fantasy booking, but it is not out of the realms of possibility that Dillinger appears at Double or Nothing and announces himself as not only part of the AEW roster, but the first talent to leave WWE and join Cody (who happens to be a close friend of Dillinger) and The Young Bucks on their exciting journey.
Or he may be stating the May 31 date to throw fans off the scent so a potential DON appearance comes as a surprise. After all, his 90 day no compete expires two days prior to the AEW event.
Whilst it remains unclear if Dillinger will be using his ‘Perfect 10’ gimmick outside of WWE, the future does seem bright for him and we are excited to see which promotions make the most of Dillinger’s potential, something that WWE clearly failed to do.
