Tyson Fury Called Out For Next WWE Match

Tyson Fury Called Out For Next WWE Match

Tyson Fury has been called out once again for his potential next match in WWE by former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.

McIntyre and Fury have been exchanging trash-talk seemingly ever since Fury’s first (and so far only) WWE match at Crown Jewel in October 2019, which was a win over Braun Strowman.

It seemed that plans were in place for a match between the two but had to be put on hold due to the pandemic, but McIntyre remains eager to step into the ring with the two-time world heavyweight boxing champion.

Speaking with Mirror Fighting, McIntyre said:

“The way I put it, I’m angling for a significant UK pay-per-view, I won’t shut up about it until it happens and Fury and I have been going back-and-forth for a long time.

“If we needed something a little outside the box to get people’s attention, especially in the UK, someone of his stature in boxing and my stature in WWE that would draw some eyes. It would be a battle of Britain and that’s what I’d like to see.”

It is believed WWE will hold a pay-per-view in the UK on September 3 or 4 in 2022, at either the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, or Wembley in London, England.

WWE’s Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon also commented on Tyson Fury potentially having another match in WWE, saying:

“Tyson Fury, I feel, is made for WWE. He has all of the personality, all of the charisma, he’s an incredible athlete with a tremendous look, he’s a big man, lots of strength, power, speed and agility. I think he is tailor-made for WWE and we’ll see if and when he comes back.”

If WWE does manage to get Fury in for another match, it’ll likely be at the aforementioned September UK show, or possibly even sooner when WWE heads back to Saudi Arabia in February.
