Boxing star Tyson Fury has discussed his plans for the future, noting that an exhibition bout against Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson would be ‘fantastic’.
Fury previously announced his retirement from professional boxing following his fight against Dillian Whyte in April.
The heavyweight has now told Good Morning Britain that he intends to step back into the ring for exhibition bouts purely for entertainment.
Naming The Rock as one of a number of stars he’d be interested in facing, Fury said:
“I’m going to do some exhibition matches, they’re not real fights. Purely for the entertainment factor.
“This is not professional boxing, this is purely for entertainment. Hollywood-style entertainment. That’s all it is, nothing more, nothing less.
“You get to fight anyone. In an exhibition you can fight old-timers, famous people, whoever you want. So I’m looking at fighting Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Frank Bruno, whoever. The Rock, Dwayne Johnson! That would be fantastic. You never know who we could be fighting.”
The Rock’s daughter Simone Johnson recently received a new WWE ring name, fuelling speculation that she will make her WWE TV debut soon.
Fury previously hinted that he would be making a WWE return this summer for Clash at the Castle at Wales’ Principality Stadium in September.
He notably made his wrestling debut at Crown Jewel 2019, defeating Braun Strowman (Adam Scherr) via countout.
