It’s being reported that the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales is the frontrunner to be host of the 2022 WWE SummerSlam event.
As per Alex McCarthy of TalkSPORT, meetings for the potential venue took place during the tour last week. Noting that progress was made on a future UK pay-per-view, McCarthy tweeted:
“Been working on this one for a couple of weeks… The Principality Stadium in Cardiff is the front-runner for SummerSlam in the UK next year. Meetings took place during the tour last week and great progress was made on a WWE UK PPV.”

The stadium has a capacity of 74,500, although, depending on how WWE sets things up, it might not be exactly that for a wrestling crowd.
SummerSlam 1992 took place in the UK, with the British Bulldog and Bret Hart headlining Wembley in front of an announced 80,355 fans that year.
