There is reportedly uncertainty surrounding Stone Cold Steve Austin’s role at WrestleMania 38.
Multiple sources previously reported that Austin was set to return to the ring to face Kevin Owens at next month’s event.
Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Austin hadn’t signed on for the match, as of Friday (March 4).
Noting that Austin is currently on the books for a confrontation at WrestleMania 38, Meltzer noted:
“They will have a confrontation but it is not clear if that will be a match or not anymore. It’s essentially up to Austin at this point. They want the match, they thought they had the match and Steve … there’s a reason he hasn’t wrestled in 19 years. I just know that as of Friday, he had not agreed to do the match even though it was on the books. Now, it’s on the books as a confrontation.”
We will continue to provide updates on the situation as they become available.
