There has been some uncertainty about Vince McMahon’s status for Friday’s (April 7) edition of WWE SmackDown.
This week’s show will be the first episode of SmackDown following the announcement that Endeavor will merge WWE and UFC into one sports entertainment company.
It has been heavily speculated that Vince McMahon will be taking more control of creative moving forward, following reports that he was ‘firmly back in charge’ at Raw.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), there were some ‘very important people’ within WWE who were uncertain if McMahon would be at Friday’s taping, as of Thursday (April 6).
It was also noted that several higher-ups indicated that it is ‘believed and hoped‘ that the upcoming episode of Smackdown will return to the version of the show we saw since Triple H took over.
Several big segments have been confirmed for the show, with Triple H set to ‘address the WWE Universe’.
