Real Reason For The Undertaker Breaking Character In Viral WWE Moment

WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker has revealed the true story behind the viral video of him performing a hot tag.

While The Undertaker’s character is known for being a stoic, imposing force, there is a clip that often resurfaces showing the Deadman hyping the crowd up ahead of an energetic hot tag sequence in a seemingly out of character moment.

Cody Rhodes asked The Undertaker about this on his What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast, questioning what inspired him to do this during his live show matches, teaming with Triple H against Legacy.

Revealing that he did this to teach the younger wrestlers what a hot tag should look like, The Undertaker said:

“All it was was a total teachable moment, that’s all it was for me. I never worked that way anywhere else, it didn’t work for my character to work like that.

“Back then, you’re not thinking of someone recording it, so I’m thinking that I’m getting away with being able to teach this moment. 

“I’ve got Randy (Orton), who’s an established guy, but then you (Cody Rhodes) and Ted (DiBiase jr) are young guys coming up.

“That’s the best way for me to teach, to let you experience what that hot tag should be like. That’s all that was, just a teaching moment, because I didn’t get those very often.

“We got to do some creative things at live events over there, those were all teachable moments.”
