There has been a recent update to Undertaker’s WWE contract status after he retired from WWE in 2020.
Undertaker has revealed that he is no longer under contract with WWE as a performer. He is currently under a legends contract, although he’s reportedly receiving much more money than people holding similar contracts.
On The Joe Rogan Experience, The Deadman was discussing the wellness policy when he talked about his contract. Noting that he’s no longer a contracted performer, Undertaker isn’t required to do the mandatory wellness policy tests that WWE talent are subject to.
Here is the full quote, courtesy of Ringside News:
“Before I switched my contract — now I’m not a talent, I’m a legend — I only worked two or three times a year, but I was under a regular contract. Under a regular contract, and this is if you tested clean, you had to have four mandatory piss tests and two blood tests every year.”
This is confirmation that Undertaker doesn’t plan to return to the ring. After going back on his apparent retirement plans a few times, it seems like his Survivor Series farewell was his last WWE appearance as a contracted performer.
Undertaker wrestled his final match against AJ Styles on the first night of WrestleMania 36. Happy with concluding his career with the Boneyard match, The Undertaker is getting used to life as a spectator once again.
