Last month saw The Undisputed Era shockingly lose their NXT Tag Team Championships against Moustache Mountain during the second night of the UK Championship Tournament.
The title change was particularly unexpected due to the immense push that the Adam Cole-led faction had received this year and it was clear that this wouldn’t be the end of that push.
Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly invoked their rematch clause on this week’s show and the four men engaged in another hard-hitting encounter. Trent Seven’s knee was targeted for much of the match and would ultimately prove to be the deciding factor in the result.
After withstanding relentless damage through various submission attempts, it was a heel hook from Kyle O’ Reilly that forced Tyler Bate to mercifully throw the towel in to save his damaged partner. This saw the Undisputed Era join the Revival in historically becoming two time NXT Tag Team Champions.
With the launch of NXT UK and the confirmation of UK Tag Team belts, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise with this result as Seven and Bate are primed to be the face of the tag team division for WWE’s UK brand and losing the titles gives them the freedom to do this.
In terms of future challengers for the belts, War Raiders may emerge as front runners to compete for the titles at Takeover: Brooklyn.
What are your thoughts on Undisputed Era regaining the belts? And who do you want to see challenge for them in the future? Let us know in the comments below or on our Twitter page.
