WWE has announced that at June’s WWE UK Championship Tournament, British Strong Style (BSS) will face the Undisputed Era (UE) in a six-man tag match.
BSS includes WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne, former UK Champion Tyler Bate, and his Mustache Mountain partner Trent Seven.
This match has been set up following Roderick Strong’s betrayal of Pete Dunne in the NXT Tag Team Championship match at NXT Takeover: New Orleans, when Strong subsequently joined UE, turning heel in the process.
There was a lot of speculation after the heel turn that Strong and UE partner Kyle O’Reilly could enter into a feud with Dunne and Bate (when returned from injury) and that could still be the case – we will wait and see what the latest NXT tapings hold.
Strong’s heel-turn and inclusion in UE look to have been a move to allow Adam Cole, the new NXT North American Champion, to focus on a singles feud, which in turn allows Strong to cover for the injured Bobby Fish.
This match has all the potential to be one of the matches of the year, and because Triple H is in charge, he’s likely to give it plenty of time and with the men involved, it’s fair to expect plenty of fireworks.
The WWE UK Championship tournament will take place on June 18-19 at the Royal Albert Hall in Kensington, London.
