A WWE star has been branded an “unsung hero” in the success of the Roman Reigns vs Logan Paul match at WWE Crown Jewel.
Logan Paul rightfully drew a lot of praise for his performance in the match, but it’s worth giving a special mention to the man who trained Paul leading up to it.
That man is none other than former Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak, who WWE sent to Puerto Rico to be Paul’s “personal coach”.
Dave Meltzer wrote in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter:
An unsung hero of the match was Drew Gulak. WWE sent Paul a ring to Puerto Rico to train with and sent Gulak to be his personal coach.
He did come to the performance center and train some with Shawn Michaels, with them shooting footage of that and pushing that aspect, the bulk of the training was by Gulak
Other than a couple of very brief cameos in backstage segments and losing the odd squash match, Gulak himself hasn’t been used in an actual featured position on WWE TV since he was attacked by both Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair during their feud back in April.
