An upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown is seemingly set to be pre-taped due to clashing with a major holiday.
WWE is set for it’s next trip to Saudi Arabia at the end of June, with both the June 27 episode of SmackDown and the Night of Champions event on June 28 set to take place in Riyadh.
The following week’s episode of the show will take place on the Fourth of July, and it seems as though WWE will not be airing SmackDown live on the holiday.
WWE currently does not have an episode of SmackDown advertised for July 4, and in an update from WrestleVotes, the July 4 episode of SmackDown is set to be taped following the June 30 episode of Raw in Pittsburgh.
They said:
“Nothing schedule-wise that would prevent it. It does seem like it’s going to be a pre-taped show. No tickets on sale yet, no date. We’re five weeks out or so. I’d imagine because of the holiday, they’re going to give the guys the night off, and it will be taped on that Monday night.”
UPDATE: WWE has confirmed the June 30 Raw in Pittsburgh will also play host to the July 4 SmackDown taping that will air on the Fourth of July.
