Huge Update On AEW Grand Slam Ticket Count

Huge Update On AEW Grand Slam Ticket Count

As per WrestleTix, all suite tickets for AEW Grand Slam have been fully distributed, which will likely put the event’s attendance above 20,000.

WrestleTix took to Twitter to report:

“I’ve been told all suite tickets have been fully distributed for tonight’s show. There are 90 suites in total (that allow up to 20 guests per suite). That will likely put tonight’s number above 20,000+ people in attendance for #AEWGrandSlam.”

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has since noted that the updated ticket count for tonight’s show is 18,938, not including suite tickets, tweeting:

“Updated ticket count for tonight is 18,938 not including suites which would add another 1,000 to 1,800.”

Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics shared a Wrestling Observer table featuring some of the most-attended US wrestling shows. Explaining how tonight’s Arthur Ashe Stadium show will likely be one for the history books, Thurston tweeted:

“Tonight’s AEW event will be attended by more than 20,000 people. It will be the most highly-attended non-WWE pro wrestling event in the U.S. or Canada since July 5, 1999. That was for a WCW Nitro episode at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, attended by 25,000+.”

Andrew Zarian of The Mat Men podcast also took to Twitter to talk about the historical significance of AEW Grand Slam. Crediting Meltzer for the fact, Zarian tweeted:

“If AEW breaks 20k in attendance would be the most attended Pro Wrestling show in NYC since Show-Down at Shea 1980. Also. WWE had MSG & Felt Forum double sellouts that hit 24,000 many times from 1975-84 (credit to @davemeltzerWON for giving me this fact)”
