Report: AEW In Talks With Stardom About Potential Deal AEW

An update has emerged on a possible working relationship between AEW and World Wonder Ring Stardom.

Following AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, AEW President Tony Khan noted that he is interested in working with Stardom, the women’s promotion owned by BUSHIROAD, who also own NJPW.

Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW and Stardom have been in contact recently.

Noting that Stardom is interested in having some AEW stars appear for the promotion, Meltzer wrote:

“There has been communication between AEW and Stardom of late. There are no deals but we’re told to expect something. There had been no talks in the past. We do know that Stardom is interested in getting dates with some AEW women, notably Toni Storm. But we were told to expect some stuff to happen. Storm has said she’s interested in working there as well.”

Storm wrestled for Stardom from 2016 to 2018, notably winning the World of Stardom Championship, SWA World Championship and the 2017 Cinderella tournament during her time with the promotion.

At Forbidden Door, Thunder Rosa defended her AEW Women’s Championship against Storm. The match marked Storm’s second loss in AEW since arriving in the promotion earlier this year. Stay up to date with AEW win/loss records for 2022 at this link.

NJPW recently announced that competitors from Stardom will soon be appearing on ‘NJPW of America’ shows.
