A ‘backstage argument’ reportedly broke out after last night’s WWE Raw main event between the Judgment Day and Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
The argument reportedly stemmed from the match not going according to planned after some ‘very last second’ changes to the layout of the match.
In an update from PWInsider, a source from the company who spoke to PWInsider shortly after they broke the initial report stated that it was simply a ‘difference of opinion’ that had been exacerbated by the last minute changes made to main event plans.
The same WWE source had stated that, almost up to the second that the entrances were happening, the match was being re-worked, and when things didn’t go smoothly in the ring, it exacerbated the issues.
They felt as though the changes may have led to a domino effect of things not being ‘as smooth as it would have been otherwise’ in the ring.
The source that spoke to PWInsider was playing down the significance of the argument, believing that it wouldn’t be an issue that would continue to cause strife.
The source noted that, with WWE’s business currently on fire, everyone is especially ‘sensitive’ to doing their part to keep it going, which naturally will lead to some butting of the heads over the right course of action for a segment or match, especially with so many hot acts in the company at the same time.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful provided an additional update, noting that those he spoke to about the situation claimed the situation was ‘more of a talk’ and a difference of opinion than an argument.
