A status update has emerged on Carlito, following his surprise return at the WWE Backlash 2023 premium live event.
One of the highlights of the May 6 show saw the former Intercontinental Champion side with Bad Bunny and fight the Judgment Day during the celebrity’s San Juan Street Fight against Damian Priest.
With Carlito receiving such a big reaction both in the arena and online, it had been speculated that he could possibly stick around for another WWE run.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Carlito’s appearance with WWE was a one-off.
It was noted that this could always change, however his return was planned as a one-time appearance.
In an interview just days before Backlash, Carlito noted that he’s open to ‘a good offer from anywhere‘.
He is still active on the independent scene, with the popular star most recently wrestling for MAW in late-April.
Full results from Backlash were as follows:
Raw Women’s Championship – Bianca Belair (c) def. IYO SKY
Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins def. Omos
United States Championship – Austin Theory (c) def. Bobby Lashley, Bronson Reed
SmackDown Women’s Championship – Rhea Ripley (c) def. Zelina Vega
San Juan Street Fight – Bad Bunny def. Damian Priest
